Edmonton Community Spotlight: Virginia Park
Posted by Terry Paranych on
Situated less than 10-minutes from the city’s vibrant downtown core, Virginia Park remains one of Edmonton’s oldest and most celebrated communities. Nestled snuggly between beautiful Borden Park and Kinnaird Park, this quiet, family-friendly neighbourhood is characterized by tree-lined streets, affordable homes, countless amenities and breathtaking views of both Rat Creek and the North Saskatchewan River Valley.
Did you know? Though the origin of the neighbourhood’s name is not officially known, the community was once home to the Virginia Park Greenhouse, which operated within the heart of the area from 1912 to 1981. The greenhouse has since been moved to southwest Edmonton. (Source: City of Edmonton)
